As Promised
A brave collection with depth
All day long Ive been thinking, “This may be my most personal collection ever shared.” I’ve just added fourteen paintings to my website.
A collection I decided should be called “Embodied”. These paintings came together in an exercise of self-compassion, a choice to paint freely and to create the stories of women who embody more than anyone close to them can fully know…or if others know, perhaps they wonder…
“Why do you carry such parts of your story any longer? After all, that was then and now is now. You are safe and well, why does your before still matter?”
I added a description to this collection that I am deeply proud of and not just in technique or process. Instead, in the bravery to share them beautifully exposed.
A collection inspired by the embrace of all that has impacted our lives and all that we carry as we continue to live past trauma, illness and hardship. We carry in our bodies all that has happened to us. We may hope to forget our wounds and we might realize it is not possible. We learn to embrace rather than erase our stories and in that embracing we strengthen others.
Curious over how they may look in frames, with a mat or not, I used Smartist to envision one.

I hope they meet you in the parts of your story you give yourself permission to be embodied forever by,
and are aware of how through you comes the strengthening of others.
Next up? A collection called “Nature Inspired”.
Botany Bay has me remembering how much I love painting marshes.
I’ll also be adding the “Edisto” oyster shell Collection here.
Maybe shells, zinnias and such.
I believe they all belong.
Again, I thank you for the encouragement you may not realize you give.
