Worth Sharing
Hope, Always
If you follow me on Instagram (lisa_anneart), you may have noticed a sort of blendedness in my content. I often post thoughts that come in the mornings as I journal and read either a devotion or scripture. If my thoughts resonate with someone and they thank me, I answer with this truth…
Some mornings, I sense strongly a message from God and I share it, thinking someone else may need it. I’m just sharing with others what God shares with me.
You may have seen the post sharing recent photos taken at a brand session. The time spent with the photographer, MacKenzie Dalton, was a spiritual experience. Our first time meeting, I felt fully known and my heart and my hopes, understood. She and I and the presence of Holy Spirit, captured the essence of my art, my process and of me.
She saw that my writing and my thoughts both inspire and strengthen my tenacity and my determination not to give up, instead to lean into the essence of me and simply, “continue and believe”, to keep sharing content with you.
Today, I hit the 3000 mark of Instagram followers. I’ve been glancing occasionally as the number has grown and so, today I’m saying thank you with a discount code to use on my website and I’m sharing a few thoughts about collections and a bit of exciting news.
Now through August 31st, you can use the discount code HOPEALWAYS for 30% off one purchase on my website.
Because I’m encouraged to keep painting, to keep hoping, by people like you.
Thank you.
Just the other day, I thought about all that we carry in our bodies, all of the events that have marked our tender hearts and lives. I thought about what we try so hard to keep buried when if we’d just let all those layers of fear and grief have space to breathe, we’d be stronger. We’d be transparent. We’d let more light in to our very own souls. We’d believe in hope.
The “Embodied” Collection happened spontaneously and with creative freedom. I gave myself permission not to cover, even loosely veil, parts of the figures. I will forever love the peaceful process that led to these paintings.
Now for a bit of news.
We finished out the Summer Series at Juniper in Ridge Spring. It was fabulous, it was fun and had such an air of ease. If you participated, THANK YOU! Because you asked, we’re considering very strongly making “Paint With Me” a monthly event.
I hope we do!
Now, the surprise that well, surprised me. I was accepted into the Art on Beach event on Sullivan’s Island to be held on November 8th. It’s an annual event with a portion of the proceeds going to support Charleston Pro Bono Legal Services. The surprise?
I was selected to be the Featured Artist this year. I submited five pieces and they loved them all, but especially loved a figurative collage…one like this.
You can learn more and purchase tickets (don’t you love the beach in November?)here:
I’m working very calmly and yet with a bit of motivational pressure to have a large body of work ready for the December exhibtion at Aiken Center for the Arts. This is a first for me and the reason I say to you and quite often to myself.
Always hope aka “you got this!”
Lisa (Anne)
